I've been using an awl for gathering / pleating fabric. Recently, I've been using very sheer fabric and needed something less sharp asap. Found a blackhead remover tool and worked perfectly.

My biggest sin is a lot more sewing goes on in my head than in reality!! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I love all your products that you showed but also like my little 6 inch ruler that has the little slide thing on it to help measure seems.

Great video, thank you. I love my bent surgical tweezers. Pack of 3 from AMZ. I have a pair by each machine (sewing, embroidery & serger/overlocker) plus at my cutting table. I also love my rotary cutters & creative grid rulers.

Lucy, what pattern is the shirt you’re wearing? I have the same needlework scissors. Love them and the Chaco chalk pens.

I loved that you didn't just show the items but showed how to use them. I love my duckbill scissors as they make grading seams so much easier. I also like my pinking shears when cutting seams, especially with vintage garments to give an authentic look. A walking foot makes tricky fabric so much easier to sew.

I have a silver thimble which fits just right and I love my Japanese quilting thread which I bought from a quilt shop ages ago. I like the products you have shown especially the rubber ended seam ripper.

One of my go to’s in an adjustable zipper foot. I use it for regular zips but because it’s adjustable I can move the foot out of way properly to move the zipper pull

I absolutely need my tracing wheel. Together with a sheet of chalked paper. I would love to find a double wheel to mark two lines at once which is stable enough for accuracy. I have two already but I'm not happy with them. Still looking for good quality.

I have a little piece of plastic with cut outs with different measurements all around the sides which is great, I use it to mark hems etc. Another essential for me is a humper jumper so that very thick seams feed through my machine evenly.

I was furious when i bought what was advertised as silk organza to use as a pressing cloth and it melted all over my iron

What do you mean when talking about a 'cover lock' machine? Also, will these tips work on non stretch fabrics say cottons or polyester type? Thanks love your vids - presentation both verbal and visual. I always learn something from your tutorials 😊 👍

I guess I have large thumbs and can't bear to use little scissors for trimming. I prefer using knippers.

I love a good overhead lamp and a mini vacuum leaner to clean up all the threads and bits of fabric. Not exactly sewing tools but it makes sewing so much easier for me. 👍👍

My favourite sewing tools are my machines 😂 I had been using a very very simple sewing machine for many years but never really ended up making full garments because the results just weren’t worth the effort, time and money. Now that I have better machines the results are professional and I actually want to wear what I make! Life changing genuinely! I know that sounds extreme but having clothes that fit my unique body is honestly life changing… ❤

Hi Lucy, I have the cami pattern ang I love it. I have 5 or 6 of them.I would like to add a frill around the neck but I dont want a gathered frill. I would like more of a flutter frill. Have you any ideas how I do this , also I really only want from under the arm holes. Help!! Gwen

Thank you Lucy. It’s really helpful that you share your body measurements and which size you made in the garments to see how much ease is in the finished garments and what adjustments you made to get the fit right. As a result, I would now consider purchasing some of the more fitted patterns and trying new designers.

I have an overlocker brand new but I was wondering for the three thread overlock for finishing seams or for a rolled hem do you need to remove the thread cone and thread aswell as the needle. I th8nk you have done a great presentation.

Great video. I’m thinking of getting a second lighter machine for classes/socials and was looking at the Janome DKS100 as it’s only 7kg. Is this machine lighter than that? Also, love your blouse and would love to know what pattern it is? Many thanks.

I am surprised there is no trim catcher included at that price. Also, I would worry how you manage if the air threading decides to go wrong. Not sure how likely that is to happen.

Great method and tips, wish you had shown how you sew across the base of the zip last! My Mum taught me to always baste in these zips but never used tape or stabiliser, so thank you for that.

I do as well, so I am wondering how and in what order you would correct both of these fitting problems as they will intersect near the shoulder line? Thanks

Recently I watched a video on UA-cam called "Stuart-the woolpatch" and he had a guest by the name of Carol Alayne who is a Master Tailor & Couturier and she said that the Neru garmet sewn on "Sewing Bees" should not to be considered as a jacket, but it was a semi-fitted shirt and she mentioned why. She also mentioned that the sample product had no lining, no shoulder pads and no structure. You may want to view the video since it was rather interesting how she spoke on the so called jacket & other items of the show. Very interesting . I learned something.

I saw an one minute youtube video where the sleeve was put in with a serger. You change the differential to 1.5 which controls the serger foot and it does the job. The sleeve is inside and the bodice is on the outside as you sew. It takes minutes.

Glad to see you have added the Indie patterns. It would be helpful if you added the sewing cup size. That is one thing I love about some indie patterns, the included sewing cup sizes and some included pant adjustments. Oh I almost forgot about the height adjustment.

Closet Core Jenna is a fabulous shirt pattern. I made it for my first attempt at a ‘proper’ shirt with all the classic features and it turned out great as the instructions are so good. It was my first collar with stand, first tower plackets for the cuffs and also my first buttonholes. I’m a petite at just five feet but the alterations were easy to do and I love it.
